How to increase PageRank
Google PageRank (PR) is a measure from 0 -10 of how important Google thinks a webpage is, If you have TOP100Rank software installed on your comupter then it will automatically tell you the PageRank of any webpage you are looking at.
Google's patented PageRank algorithm examines the entire link structure of the web and determine which pages are most important. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be. PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is, thus giving the linked page greater value.
Google also conducts hypertext-matching analysis to determine which pages are relevant to the specific search being conducted. By combining overall importance and query-specific relevance, Google is able to put the most relevant and reliable results first.
1. Update your website every day by adding more unique content
Having more content (relevant content, which is different from the content on other sites both in wording and topics) is a real boost for your site's rankings. If you site has some information for a visitor then it is 100% chance for him to come back to your site again.
Frequent changes are favored. It is great when you constantly add new content but it is not so great when you only make small updates to existing content. Also recent documents (or at least regularly updated ones) are favored.
Generally long pages are not favored, or at least you can achieve better rankings if you have 3 short rather than 1 long page on a given topic, so split long pages into multiple smaller ones.
2. Provide inside linking to your website
For example you can provide a link of your previous and next articles on an article page. Or you can provide a list of related articles so visitor can remains a long time on your website.
3. Submit your website to all the major search engines
Submitting your website to search engine directories are a good way to get a free link to your website, Though it strongly depends on which directories. Being listed in Google, Yahoo, MSN, Alta Vista and similar directories, is a great boost for your ranking but having tons of links from PR0 directories is useless and it can even be regarded as link spamming, if you have hundreds or thousands of such links
4. Exchange your link with other web owners
Put their link on your website and they will put your link in them. This is for free and the very fast way to improve your visibility in search engines.
5. Join forums
forums are a great way to achieve links to your website. In most forums you are allowed to have a signature and in your signature you can put a link to your website. The more back links you have the higher your PR will be. But another important note to look on is making sure the forum is somewhat related to your website.
6. Using newsletters
Creating newsletters will probably be the most beneficial step you can take to increasing your web presence. It will help you to keep visitors coming back to your website for more by using signatures and giving special deals.
7. Creating and publishing articles
Articles are an easy source of generating new traffic. You can include your signature in your article. This will bring in more traffic from article submission directories. Your signature usually consists of 4 to 8 lines. Usually the first line would be the title of the website that you are trying to advertise. The last line would be the link to the website and the lines in between these would be a sales pitch to draw your viewers into your website.
8. Links from related websites, especially links from .edu and .gov sites
These links are precious because .edu and .gov sites are more reputable than .com. .biz, .info, etc. domains. Additionally, such links are hard to obtain. Gaining links from these websites can be one of the most frustrating tasks you can attempt. To find these related websites, all you have to do is go to a search engine... say Google... and type in your subject.
